That feeling when….. it’s March and you’re killing your 2018 goals and it’s Nutrition Month! We know you’ve probably got it all #perfectlybalanced, but we thought we’d put together a quick list of our fave tips for leading your best nutritious life. We hope these 5 simple tips take your nutrition game from great to amazing.
DRINK WATER (DUH)
Did you know that staying hydrated through the day with water can help your muscles and joints be more optimized, keep your skin supple and cleanse your body from the inside and out? Yep, our bodies aren’t 50-75% water for nothing. Water is basically what keeps you looking and feeling your best, and the good news is as long as you pace yourself you can’t over do it. If you know that you’re one of those people who forgets to hydrate, we suggest trying one of these hydration reminder apps. You’ll want to make sure you hydrate with the best possible water, CORE is pH Balanced to be aligned with your body’s optimal pH of 7.4. A balanced body works better – mentally, physically and all around. So drink up!
MEAL PREP YOUR LIFE
We know, finding the time and the right recipes may sound daunting, but if you can carve out a few hours, once a week to dedicate to meal prep, it will save you time later and you’ll be hitting your food intake goals without having to think about it on the daily. We suggest investing in good containers and making food in large batches – if you have left overs just freeze them for next week or later. Some thought starters: season two batches of chicken with different spices on each and then bake at the same time on the same pan, or roast different vegetables with the same cooking time on the same pan. It’s all about finding hacks that work for the food you want to eat each week.
DON’T GET CRAZY
Ok, we know meal prep is only going to take you so far. We all love to eat out once in a while, but after all the work you put into staying hydrated, avoiding sugar and doing your meal prep you don’t want to throw it all away on one Friday night out. At the same time, know that you don’t have to live an all or nothing way of life. Eating one burger isn’t going to ruin 3 months of 2018’s progress. Make mindful choices, and remember that it’s a lifestyle and never a diet or quick fix.
